Joanne (Jo) Bishop, Accounts Manager/Bookkeeper
Jo is a Rhinelander native having attended and graduated from Rhinelander High School. Upon graduation from high school she attended classes at Nicolet College to further her education. Jo started with the O'Melia, Schiek & McEldowney, S.C. firm in 1991, having been a legal assistant to Attorney John O'Melia for 10 years.
She left for a brief time but returned to the area and the firm in the spring of 2003 as the Accounts Manager/Bookkeeper. Jo has a total of 16 years in the profession. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and friends. |
Jean Bruss, Legal Assistant
Jean is a native of Oneida County, born and raised in Three Lakes. Upon graduation from high school, she attended Nicolet College, received an account clerk degree, and went on to work as a secretary for the Three Lakes School District, and later at Peoples State Bank, now a branch of M & I Bank. She has been a part of the O'Melia, Schiek & McEldowney, S.C. law firm since 1982, working as a legal secretary.
Being familiar with the people, businesses, schools and civic organizations in this area has been beneficial to her work. Jean enjoys living in a picturesque vacationland area where the changing seasons afford numerous outdoor activities, and bring many interesting people to the area. |

Karen Brown, Legal Assistant
Karen was born in Ashland, Wisconsin. She graduated from Park Falls High School in northern Wisconsin. Karen has two degrees: Paralegal/Legal Assistant and Medical Records. She has 27 years in the legal profession. Karen joined the O'Melia, Schiek & McEldowney, S.C. firm in 2005 and is the Assistant to Attorney Jackomino, specializing in criminal and traffic law.
Karen is married to Tom, a retired Air Force Master Sergeant. She has 2 sons and 2 stepsons. Karen enjoys fishing/boating, NFL football, spending time with her family and her three "rescue dachshunds". |
Deborah (Deb) Wolter, Legal Assistant
Deb is a native of northern Wisconsin, having graduated from Lakeland Union High School. Deb also attended Nicolet College. She began her work in the legal profession in 1984, when she became a part of the Korth, Rodd, Mouw, Mustacci and Vocke firm, working for Attorney Edward Mouw until the merger with O'Melia, Schiek & McEldowney, S.C. and Attorney Mouw's retirement in 2007. At that time she began working for Attorney Michael Schiek as his legal assistant.
Deb is married, and with her husband Dan, have four children and seven grandchildren. Deb enjoys camping trips, traveling, watching football, and taking in a NASCAR race each summer. |

Valerie (Val) Brigham, Legal Assistant
Val is a native of Rhinelander and a 1978 graduate of Rhinelander High School. She started in the legal profession when she went to work for Krueger & Krueger in August of 1978. From there Val went with John Krueger to work for Rodd, Mouw & Saari law firm in 1996. While at the firm she began to work for Andrew P. Smith. In 2007 Mouw, Krueger & Smith, S.C. merged with O'Melia, Schiek & McEldowney, S.C., and now Val splits her time working for Andrew Smith and John Schiek.
Val and her husband Bill have two children, a daughter and a son who both live and work in Rhinelander. They also have two granddaughters. Val enjoys working in her flower gardens, bow hunting, and spending time at their log cabin in the Nicolet National Forest. |
Tara Kress, Bookkeeper Assistant
Tara was born and raised in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, having graduated from Rhinelander High School. She furthered her education by attending Fox Valley Technical College, earning a degree in Retail Management. Tara started with O'Melia, Schiek & McEldowney, S.C., in 2004.
Tara is married to Andy Kress and they have a daughter. Tara enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys salmon fishing in the summer and scrap booking in the winter.
