In 2011 we are celebrating our 100th consecutive year in business. The O'Melia law firm originated in 1911 when A.J. O'Melia opened his law practice in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, with the intention of providing high quality, professional legal services.

He later formed a partnership with Walter Kaye and thereafter a number of prominent attorneys worked with the firm including A.J.'s sons, John F. O'Melia and Donald C. O'Melia, together with attorney William A. Melby.

In 1984, the firm operated under the name of O'Melia & McEldowney, S.C. In 1989 the family firms O'Melia & McEldowney, S.C. merged with Melby & Schiek to form O'Melia, Schiek & McEldowney, S.C. More recently, in 2006, O'Melia, Schiek & McEldowney, S.C. and Mouw, Krueger & Smith, S.C., two of the oldest law firms in the Rhinelander area, merged to form one of the largest firms in the region. Our firm's members include John H. Schiek, John F. O'Melia, Todd R. McEldowney, Jeffrey T. Jackomino, Lawrence J. Wiesneske, and Michael W. Schiek.

The latest merger enables our firm to offer more services to our clients. Described as a general practice law firm, we specialize in a wide assortment of representation including: personal injury, family law, insurance defense, criminal and traffic law, real estate and corporate law, estate planning, elder law and probate, general litigation, worker's compensation and social security disability.

The law firm of O'Melia, Schiek & McEldowney, S.C. is very proud of the successful reputation we have built in our community with seven practicing attorneys, we will continue to provide that same high quality, professional legal representation for everyone in the Rhinelander and surrounding communities.
